Faster Charging Speeds
Lithium-ion forklift batteries can be fully charged in as little as 2 hours and don’t need to cool down after charging. It can take 8 to 10 hours to charge a lead-acid battery plus another 8 hours for cooling.
Lower Total Cost of Ownership
Lead acid battery forklifts are usually cheaper to purchase, however, lithium-ion forklifts will give you a lower total cost of ownership.
Longer Lifespan
Lithium-ion batteries last much longer than lead-acid batteries. Lithium-ion forklifts manufactured by Hangcha can last up to 20,000 hours so if you use it 8 hours a day it will last 2,500 days.
Virtually No Maintenance
Lithium batteries never need watering! However, if you have a lead-acid battery, you need to keep the right amount of water in it for it to work properly. In addition, lithium batteries never need cleaning or need to have their acid level checked. They are virtually maintenance-free.
No Equalization Charging
Most lead-acid battery manufacturers recommend that you do an equalization charge each week. Lithium batteries never need this done.
Save Energy
Lithium-ion batteries keep a constant voltage level during the entire discharge cycle, which means you can save as much as 50% in energy costs compared to lead-acid.
Cold Area Application
Compared to a lead-acid powered truck, the batteries in the lithium-ion heat up to 32 degrees F in one-third of the time it would take the lead-acid powered truck thanks to an electrical heating element.
